Kent Brown, CCA Instructor

All courses at Coal Creek Armory are taught by former law enforcement officer and Tennessee State Certified Firearms Instructor Kent Brown. He is one of best skilled and most qualified firearms and defense instructors in East Tennessee.

Kent currently holds certifications in the State of Tennessee as a legal and protective services instructor and a Tennessee State Certified Firearms Instructor. As a law enforcement instructor, he held over fifteen instructor certifications. These included General Firearms (handgun & shotgun), Sub-machine Gun, Patrol Rifle & Carbine, Tactical Shotgun, SWAT, Chemical Weapons, and Officer Survival, to name a few.

Kent also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is a graduate of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in Nashville.

During his tenure of over twenty years as a law enforcement officer, he held several positions within his department. These included General Departmental Instructor and Cheif Firearms Instructor, SWAT Team Commander and Instructor, as well as being a Criminal Investigator and Patrol Officer and Supervisor.

Kent Brown has trained over 5000 law enforcement officers, including federal, state, and local; as well as citizens. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Coal Creek Armory's Training Division and we are fortunate to be able to offer it to our customers, providing them with an excellent self-defense and tactical training experience.
