Guncraft Venturing Crew 357

 For years local high school students have expressed an interest in the shooting sports.  Venturing Crew 357 (then Exploring Post 338) was formed during 1995 to provide a supervised opportunity for them to learn respect, legalities, safely handling, and maintenance, as well as, to practice firearms marksmanship. This crew meets on Wednesdays at 7pm at Coal Creek Armory's Knoxville location (located off Dutchtown Road).  Activities are centered around acquiring safe knowledge and use of firearms (with emphasis on safety instruction and marksmanship).  Handguns and rimfire rifles are used for target practice. Safe indoor shooting facilities are provided by Coal Creek Armory and requires only active membership in the Venturing Crew 357.  Additionally, trained personnel are available to help with repairs or to answer questions on various firearms related products.  Typically, a meeting consists of a short business meeting and/or program then range time is provided to improve our firearm skills.   We strongly encourage anyone who is interested in the shooting sports to give us a try.

BSA membership registration fee is $16 for all members (youth and adult advisors).  BSA fees will be waved in cases of dual registration.  Both youth and adult leaders pay $10 to Coal Creek Armory to cover incidental expenses (not applicable to members of Coal Creek Armory).

Venture Crew 357 will shoot Wednesdays each month with shooting lanes provided from 7 to 8pm.  More or less lanes/lanes or lane time will be provided based on availability.

Members may rent lane time at ½ regular rates outside of normally scheduled meetings.  Firearms may be rented at  Coal Creek Armory  Member rates for Crew 357 Members (persons 18 years or older must handle rental).

All shooters will go through Coal Creek Armory 's range orientation prior to shooting. Coal Creek Armory Safety Exam/Range Orientation is required with sign up for leaders and scouts in Venture Crew  357.

All Venturers are to provide their own equipment and supplies (firearms, targets, ammunition).
